Wanderung 27

Bob:

We returned to Fairfax on December 27 after spending a relaxing Christmas season with our in-laws in Miami. While we were there we saw "The Hobbit" movie, visited a park and old lighthouse out on Key Biscayne, and attended a Christmas Eve candlelight service at a Coral Gables church. Of course we also hung up our stockings in the hopes that Saint Nicholas would pay us a visit, and in that we were successful. I was also able to glue the pieces of one of the small Christmas pyramids back together to give it to Ondina for their Christmas season--it had been crushed during the flight from Hamburg to Rome before our first cruise so gluing it back together was a bit tricky.

It was good, however, to get back home and see it standing safely there, welcoming us back. I was surprised but also pleased that all the orchids had survived the benign neglect of the preceding weeks, and even some of the plants that were connected to my watering system were still living, so we had a nice start on a winter with flowers.
