Monday, May 18th, 2009, Los Angeles and the Flight to Sydney
Bob: Actually, I never experienced Monday. Moonight I had plenty of, but not a bit of Monday. Leaving Los Angeles at Midnight Sunday night, we simply flew on and on while following the night sky across the Pacific ocean, and finally arrived in Sydney just as day was dawning on Tuesday morning. Disconcerting to lose a day like that, but I put all the blame on the International Date Line and let it go at that. |
Monika: We spent Monday, I think, flying over the enormous Pacific, trying desperately to sleep, while the changing lights of different movies impinged upon our eyes. After six hours we got a sandwich and some coffee, and then back to our regularly scheduled sleeping. |
