October 5th, 2008: Docking at Ft. Lauderdale and Flying Home
Bob: Our trip home was easy, uneventful, and quite comfortable due to fact that Jet Blue's legroom was sufficient for my long legs even in an economy class seat. Even better, when we returned home we found that it had rained sufficiently frequently during our absence that our tomato plants, at least, were all still alive and bearing. Amazing, that. We also picked a pint of raspberries off the bushes in our front yard for future raspberry jam. Even the tender indoor plants we had left to their own devices outside were all thriving. Our Irish shamrock had put out a plethora of new shoots and even the little white bell-shaped flowers it makes when its really happy; our super-sensitive Plumeria plant we got from Hawaii years ago was so happy it was actually blooming; and even our African violets appeared healthy despite standing in a pool of water!

Monika: We docked in Ft. Lauderdale in the early morning. After a last yummy breakfast, we waited for our color to be called. We had again purchased the transfer from ship to the airport and everything went smoothly. |
